I'm Lucille McCart, a communications advisor based in New York and originally from Sydney.

I spent six years at Bumble Inc., part of the brand's transformation from founder-led startup to post-IPO public company with 45 million users. I led global corporate communications from New York during a period of intense public scrutiny, and earlier held senior roles in Sydney building and scaling consumer communications across five Asia-Pacific markets. Before Bumble, I worked agency-side across technology, consumer platforms, beauty, retail, travel and lifestyle, with clients including Neutrogena, G.H. Mumm, Specsavers, Priceline Pharmacy and AMP Capital Shopping Centres.

Fifteen years of that work left me with a clear view of where there's a gap in services available to founders, brands and agencies. Deep, long-term communications work is essential for most companies, but some of the highest-stakes problem solving I've been part of happened in a matter of hours, not months. The breakthroughs came in single conversations with the right people, whether that was vetting a campaign before it went live, stress-testing a brand narrative, or responding to a crisis.

I built Bite Size Comms to fill that gap. It’s one high-value call to work through the thing you're stuck on, confidential by design. It’s the kind of advice that can be hard to access without a large in-house communications team or established agency relationship. In particular, founders and early-stage or rapidly scaling companies can be locked out. The people who most need this advice are often the least set up to access it.

I operate where communications and culture overlap. At Bumble I was a public spokesperson on dating and relationships while also navigating crisis response, trust and safety, and brand reputation through the company's evolution from startup to public listing. I co-hosted Give Me A Buzz, Bumble's dating podcast with sexologist Chantelle Otten, and have been featured in The Sydney Morning Herald, CNN Philippines, ELLE, Tatler Asia, Marie Claire, The Drum, Peak Singapore, Missing Perspectives and The Mentor podcast.

I read rooms quickly, articulate ideas clearly, and spot patterns or risks before they become obvious. I believe honesty and clarity are kindness. Most of my clients are smart people who already sense something isn't right, and they come to me for support in working out what to do about it.

There are four ways to work with me:

  • Private Thinking Session: a sounding board for the decision, campaign, or piece of thinking you want to pressure-test before you take it anywhere else.

  • Reputation & Perception Advisory Session: for when your press coverage, founder narrative, or public perception has drifted, and you need an outside read on what's shifted and what to do about it.

  • The Emergency Call: a working call for when something serious is about to escalate or already has, and you have hours, not days or weeks.

  • Agency Mentoring Sessions: for PR and comms professionals working through the parts of the job that are hard to teach. Difficult clients, reputational issues, internal politics, counsel you want to sense-check.
